About

I’m Nathan Colquhoun. I live in Sarnia, Ontario. I write, help build things with other people, and keep a record of what I’m learning along the way.

What this site is for

I started this site in October 2004. It holds writing, photographs, travel, community projects, politics, sermons and fragments of ordinary life. My thinking has changed over those years. Older entries belong to the time they were written; I keep them here as part of that history.

What I’m doing now

Most of my current public writing appears at The Sarnia Journal. I bought the newspaper in 2024 with the aim of moving it toward a collective model. That work is ongoing and shared with others.

I served on Sarnia City Council from 2018 to 2022. Earlier chapters included church leadership with theStory, organizing conferences with Epiphaneia, photography, and building local businesses.
