In light of the craziness that has been going on in New Orleans with the hurricanes and floods and all other sorts of natural and unnatural disasters that have struck the area a few friends and I have decided to go down there for a week and help wherever we can to help them get back on their feet. Pernell, Kristyn, Kevin, Melissa and myself are going to be jumping in a van on Sunday night and driving straight through to New Orleans (about 20-24 hours). When we get there we will be doing a lot of demolition apparently and removing of the crap that has accumulated. I hope to be able to daily post pictures and snippets of our experiences down there. Because this is in the middle of the summer and I’m not making a crapload of money (aka $0), any help would be absolutely remarkable. Ooh! You guys are going to have so much fun. Seriously. When I was down there back in February, it was a really exciting time for me. I learned, I experienced, I grew, and I came back with a new appreciation of life.
I just have to warn you though: No amount of preparation will prepare you for the amount of devestation that is still there. Take care and God bless.
