A few years back, this guy with big, dark rimmed glasses sat in our church with his friends.
One year later, he sat quietly in a living room in Saskatoon across from me.
At some point while listening to records and drinking the home brew created by our host, I told him that he should move to Sarnia. In Sarnia, I said, “dreams come true.” You can do anything your heart desires.
Six months later, I got an e-mail saying “were you serious? cause if you are, I am in.”
Shit, I thought to myself. I don’t know if this will actually work. Will my wife approve of yet another random person moving in to our house? Will there be a job worth of his unique set of skills?
Dallas moves to Sarnia. He hangs out for a few months, gets a feel for the place; fixes a bunch of things that I don’t know how to fix. I think it worked. I can see it in his eyes. He gets it.
A year later, I meet Celeste at some grungy bar in Saskatoon listening to what was described to me as lesbian-folk-gospel music. The Seahags they were called.
Celeste moved to Sarnia just a few months after.
A brewery was started around Dallas’ brain and obsession with knowledge and perfection, his ability to refine a bunch of fools and intense patience to troubleshoot an imperfect process.
With Celeste, beauty and thoughtfulness was brought into so many pieces of the creative aspects of both business and life here.
They got married. We danced.
This photo is a perfect example of how pictures speak louder than words. It encapsulates their personalities in a way I can’t describe. I love this picture. It is so simple yet encompasses everything I love about these two.
They got married. We danced.
All their photos from their wedding day can be experienced here. It was beautiful day that really did illustrate the two of them in ways words can’t describe. For most these will just be photos of two people they don’t know, but for us it helps tell a story that we are proud to be a part of.
