Turns out that Fra Angelico, an Italian painter from the 1400’s has a response to John Piper and his whole masculine Christianity. Here in this painting Jesus is praying in Gethaname, the disciples are sleeping and Martha and Mary are wide awake. One is looking at Jesus while he prays and the other one is reading the scriptures. Maybe masculine Christianity is when we all take naps when Jesus asks us to stay awake.
Fra Angelico painted a lot of women, even inserting them into places where the text doesn’t say there were any, as was fashionable at the time. I don’t see how this is salient.
