This was a good post.
In a way, the more we love God and the more we love our neighbor the less we will need the disciplines, in so far as what the disciplines give us becomes second nature and more and more a matter of our character and less and less a matter of our will.

A great post. Personally I’ve never liked the endless talk about spiritual exercises. I think it makes approaching God needlessly complex. In Christian worship class all the talk about needing to do things to come close to God upset me. As if we needed to do anything…to suggest that by reaching some kind of plane we’d be closer when it was Christ that did everything needed. Therefore we can come boldly.
