I don’t like doing this too often, but sometimes I just feel like people need to read some things. If you haven’t already read the lyrics for Derek Webb’s song Wedding Dress read it below. I think I’m on this kick a little bit about honesty in music. I love when lyrics are honest and transparent with the flaws in human nature and our dependency on God. A lot of people don’t like this I might add. There has been a lot of people that have spoken out against Derek Webb’s song, but it think that’s why I like it all the more. Another song that I have enjoyed so much lately is on the Underoath album “They’re only Chasing Safety”. The cool thing about this song is that it’s the lead singer (Aaron Marsh) from Copeland that wrote it and sings in it also. The song is called “Some will Seek Forgiveness, others Escape.” I posted the lyrics below. Let me know your thoughts. It’s such a beautiful way to express the gospel.
